Gatlinburg Fun
We had a great day in Gatlinburg yesterday. We started with a very colorful drive to Gatlinburg, a little over an hour's drive, with the fall leaves all changing. This week is the peak of the season and leaves changing. The mountains are looking a little more colorful with shades of orange and yellow. We were going to Gatlinburg to visit because the Craftsman's Fair at the convention center. There were hundreds of craftsman selling and working on their crafts. This year there was even a glass blower with a portable oven. There were some really beautiful items there and it always amazes me the talent these craftsmen have. After the fair we decided to visit Ole Smokey Distillery for some moonshine tasting. The tastings cost $5.00 a piece but then you receive a coupon for $5.00 to be used toward the purchase of some moonshine. Our tasting host was a great and fun guy, Trever, who made the tasting so much fun with his jokes and one liners. He even took a selfie for and with us. There were some new flavors, seasonal, and they were good. The peppermint and salted caramel were delicious and would taste really good in hot chocolate. Thanks Trever, you were great. After the tasting and doing a little shopping we were hungry and headed for one of our favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse, for linner (lunch/dinner). After that we walked around Gatlinburg and checked out some shops. It was crowded especially for a Tuesday which kind of surprised us but it did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. On our drive back to Parrottsville we went via the Foothills Parkway just to take in some more scenery and color of the season. It was a great day with great friends and it is only the beginning of our time together.
