May Showers Bring Soggy Beds
The night before we left for Missouri we had a really heavy rainstorm, note the picture, and I guess it decided to keep raining while we have been gone from the farm. I got news from Lisa yesterday that planting, or anything else, will be put on hold for a little while due to the amount of water that is down in the orchard. I guess the ground is saturated and won't hold much more. A third of the sawdust that George had put down around the blueberry bushes has washed away. So, the six week plan for the corn and other crops will be put on hold for a few days while it dries up a bit. I can just imagine how big the weeds will get. On a positive note, the baby birds we had just discovered flew the nest yesterday; life goes on!
