The Crops Are Looking Good

We, Tim, George, Lisa and myself, had a nice evening.  We grilled sausage dogs, zucchini and summer squash along with some baked beans.  It was delicious especially the grilled zucchini and squash.  After dinner we went down to the orchard and picked some more Zucchini, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes and blueberries but we looked at the rest of the crops that are really coming along.  Soon we will have green beans and peas, green peppers, bib lettuce, broccoli, cantaloupe and grapes.  There are still lots of crops to come including corn, potatoes, beets, okra, peppers, carrots, pears, cherries, apples, peaches and pawpaws.  Keep following along and see what is next that we get to enjoy.  Thanks George and Lisa for all you did and do to keep the harvests coming, yum!

The Jeep Gets Some Flaps

So after upgrading the deck with a new table and adding a screen door to the Crafty Cottage it was the Jeep's turn to get an upgrade.  As part of Tim's Father's Day present I gave Tim some mud flaps and badges for the car.  The mud flaps should help keep the car a little cleaner the badges are to make the car a little more unique.  Tim put the mud flaps and badges on the car yesterday so now the Jeep has been upgraded too.  The mud flaps are a welcome edition and the badges makes the rear end of the Jeep better looking.  We are still very happy with our Jeep Compass.  It did great on our trip and handled everything we put it through: Sun, rain, heat, snow, ice, rock slides, etc., it never disappointed us and it got really good gas mileage too!  We love our Jeep!

A Nice Day With Friends From Home

A good friend had lunch with Lisa and I yesterday.  Lisa and I drove to Waynesville, TN to have lunch with our friend Diane Combs.  She was up in North Carolina playing for a workshop at Lake Junaluska.  The workshop finished up on Friday and Diane is leaving to go back home today so we decided to get together on Saturday.  We met at Bogarts in Waynesville which is a popular restaurant that Tim, George, Lisa and I visited back in February.  We ended up having a three hour lunch but we had a lot to catch up on.  Thanks Diane for making the time so we could get together and thanks Lisa for joining us.  It was a great afternoon!

The Deck Got An Upgrade

The deck got an improvement yesterday.  Tim and George ran into Greeneville to run some errands and when they went into Walmart Tim came across an outdoor table that was on clearance.  It did not come with any chairs but we didn't need any because we had the chairs but our table was damaged before we got it.  So now we have a really nice table to go with our chairs.  It can seat 6 which will come in handy when we want to entertain.  Now all we need is an umbrella for the table and we will be set.  Thanks Tim for the table, it is perfect!

The Easiest Banana Cream Pie

We were invited to a BBQ at our neighbors house last night and Lisa and I were asked to bring dessert.  Lisa was making one of her delicious cakes so I decided to try something new.  I found an easy recipe for Banana Cream Pie so before I could make one and take to the BBQ I figured I should make a test one to make sure that it tastes good.  So I made one Wednesday and it was Tim, George and Lisa all liked it and so did I.  So I made another one yesterday.  Well it turned out even better then my first one and it was delicious.  So, since I had posted pictures of it on Facebook I figure I might as well share the super easy recipe that I found on Pinterest and here it is:

Easy Banana Cream Pie

Makes on 9 inch pie
prep time: 10 minutes
total time: 3 hours and 10 minutes

Ingredients:
Pre-made and cooked pie crust
1 (5.1 ounce) box of instant Banana Pudding
1 1/2 cups of milk
1 cup Cool Whip
2 -3 medium bananas, cut into 1/4/ inch slices

Directions:
Whisk pudding and milk in a bowl for 2 -3 minutes or until it has thickened.
Fold in Cool Whip and sliced banana.
Pour the filling into the pie shell.
Chill at least 3 hours before serving.
Garnish with the remaining cool whip or whipped cream and fresh bananas.

See how it easy it is?  Give it a try.  This will become my dessert that I will make when asked to bring dessert.  If you do make it let me know how it turns out and if you liked it!

The Garage Roof Is Done

The metal roofing was delivered early so a Time and Geoge got busy putting it up.  While Tim and George was busy on the garage roof Lisa was busy making homemade blueberry muffins from scratch using the blueberries we picked on Tuesday.  I worked all morning in the Crafty Cottage creating another door prize for the July SAS.   By noon the roof was done the muffins was done and I finished up the second door prize cards.  It was such a productive morning that George and Lisa took us out to lunch.  Thanks George and Lisa!  By the way the blueberry muffins that Lisa made were delicious!  Way to go Lisa and thank you.
Today is suppose to be hot, 97 degrees, and so I am not sure what kind of work will get done outside. I will be in the Crafty Cottage working away after I make a Banana Cream pie that I am bringing to the BBQ tonight.  Check back and see how it turned out.  Oh and one more thing, as of today Christmas is only 6 months away.  I will have to start figuring out what projects I want to do!  Haha

The Garage Is Coming Along

It was an early day for Tim and George as they put the wood up to make the roof of the new garage that George is building.  The goal was to get it all up before today since the metal roofing is being delivered today.  Lisa and I had to run into Parrottsville to pick up the liner paper that gets put on the wood before the metal roof is attached. They got everything done by 3:30.  Way to go Tim and George!
After Dinner, Lisa and I went down to the orchard to see what was ready to be harvested.  The zucchini is down to 2 or 3 a day but now the summer squash is ready to be harvested.  We also got some tomatoes and more blueberries but the one thing we enjoyed as soon as we got back up from the orchard was the first cucumber of the season; it was delicious!  Thanks for sharing Lisa.
So, it was a productive day in the hills of Tennessee and there is more to do so keep checking back!
